:: gd bye mr lui ::
mr lui has been the principal who impacted my life the most.
i still remember the first time i met him, he was at the performing arts centre(PAC) giving the sec one innaugration talk. he struck me as someone who knows his stuff, and thus assured me that SJI is a school worth being in. i got to know him better while i was doing my morning assembly duties. he often shows care and concern, taking time to ask after his prefects despite his busy schedule. it is this human touch that i see lacking in other principals and this sets him apart. even after being graduated for some time, he still remembers his students when we come back and visit.
under him, SJI also underwent lots of changes in curriculum, many which are advantageous to the students. hence, current and future josephians have reaped the benefits and grown in person and in character. SJI was also an ideal place for any and every singaporean boy to have his secondary school education. it would be SJI's loss that he is stepping down as principal.
